The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture Food and Environment, Kentucky Tobacco Research Development Center seeks a Scientist III.
The Scientist III (Analytical Research Director) position is a core research position in the Kentucky Tobacco Research & Development Center (KTRDC). Responsibilities for the Analytical Research Director include research development and implementation, particularly focused on plant analyses. This includes tobacco constituent measurement in both raw tobacco and smoke, as well as the analysis of other plants of interest (e.g. industrial hemp and forages). The scientist is expected to design research, manage personnel, manage budget and present results. The position will have responsibilities in the proficiency testing program for protocol development. The position requires engagement with international tobacco research organizations such as FDA-CTP, CORESTA, ISO TAG and TSRC to help identify and participate in research efforts. KTRDC conducts and supports unique research programs that examine new agricultural crop opportunities based on tobacco and other plants.
